The mission of the New Haven Free Public Library (NHFPL) is to ensure all of New Haven’s citizens have full and unlimited access to information and knowledge so that they may meet the needs of daily living, have opportunities for self-education, and participate successfully in self-government. Volunteers will help establish intellectual control over a variety of records related to library history (photographs, slides, scrapbooks, journals, and borrowing ledgers), enabling the library to provide better access to these materials. Volunteers will also help develop workflows for continuation of this work beyond the Day of Service.
