NEA taking the past into the future

TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES

Teach for NEA! Becoming an instructor for NEA gives you the opportunity to give back to the profession, share your expertise with others, and expand your own skill sets.

Instructors can develop a webinar (1-1.5 hours), half-day workshop (2-4 hours, virtual or in-person) or full-day workshop (5-7 hours, virtual or in-person). Members request a variety of trainings, and NEA looks to the community to help fill the need.

We welcome instructors with any level of teaching experience! Instructors are assigned a workshop planner from the Education Committee who will help walk you through the process of developing a webinar or workshop proposal. Those who are new to instruction are encouraged to start with a webinar to build their teaching chops! See the teaching resources below for tips on creating and conducting an effective training.

Why teach a webinar or workshop? It’s fun, you meet a variety of other professionals in the area, and it’s a great way to build your resume. Instructors receive an honorarium and reimbursement for some expenses.
