Membership
Anyone may join! New England Archivists membership is open to individuals and institutions upon payment of annual dues. Payment received after September 1 is applied to the following year.
Membership Categories
- Student: $15 (students must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at an institution of higher education)
- Regular: $30
- Institutional: $40
Benefits
Benefits for student and regular members:
- Special membership rate at the twice-annual conferences, as well as workshops and other events.
- A one-year subscription to the quarterly NEA Newsletter and any other free NEA publications
- Entitled to membership rate on any paid publications
- Access to online membership directory [link to new directory login page, when its available], connecting you to hundreds of archivists across the area
- Automatic subscription to NEAannounce listserv, optional subscription on request to NEAdiscuss listserv
- Entitled to vote in elections and at the annual meeting
- May hold an elected or appointed position
- May serve on committees
- Eligible for the Hale Professional Development Award and other awards
- Students are eligible to compete for the Student Writing Prize ($200)
Benefits for institutional members:
- One employee may attend NEA-sponsored events (meetings, workshops) at the member rate
- Receive one copy of NEA Newsletter and other free publications
- Entitled to membership rate on any paid publications
- May designate a "primary contact" for the institution who is eligible to vote in elections and annual meetings, hold an elected or appointed position, and serve on committees. Primary contact is also automatically subscribed to NEAannounce listserv, may request subscription to NEAdiscuss listserv, and may access the online membership directory.
