Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) Curriculum and Certificate Program

Are you challenged by the born-digital records in your institution's collections? You're not alone....
Now you can master the challenge of digital records - with DAS!

What is DAS:

In order for archivists to adopt appropriate practices for appraising, capturing, preserving, and providing access to electronic records, SAA has developed the Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) Curriculum and Certificate Program. DAS is designed to provide you with the information and tools you need to manage the demands of born-digital records.

How DAS Works:

The DAS Curriculum, developed by experts in the field of digital archives, is structured in tiers of study that guide you to choose courses based on your specific knowledge, training, and needs. You can choose individual courses--or you can take your learning to the next level by earning a Digital Archives Specialist Certificate from SAA after completing required coursework and passing both course and comprehensive examinations.

Just for NEA Members:

To launch this new program, SAA has teamed up with NEA to make it easy for you to pursue individual courses or the DAS Certificate close to your home. Through a combination of biannual meeting and regional workshops, NEA will offer the required number of face-to-face courses during a 24-month period, starting at our fall meeting at Dartmouth College. (See the curriculum schedule for October 2011-November 2013)
